I'm a new player and just installed the game.

When I start up a new game I am stuck on top of the hay bail/cart thing and cannot move. This is right at the very start of the game. I can't even open the escape menu or bring up the console.

I've tried a fresh install and deleting .ini files to repopulate them.

Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.

please copy the enderal_default.ini and the enderalPrafs_default.ini from ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Enderal to the
...\mygames\Enderal directory, where the usual ones are stored. remove those and rename the new ones to match them.
( = replace these ini with the default ones).
that may already work.

otherwise, do you have any mods installed? if so, uninstall them (deactivating may leave scripts).


if both doesn't help, please attach a savegame. they're found in (...\Documents\My Games\Enderal)
we'll need the *.ess and the *.skse file, pack both to a zip/rar/whatever archive,
(the forum doesn't accept *.skse)

copying ini files didnt work

so here are my save files. thank you for your time.

you save works fine on our end, so that's not broken at least.

do you maybe have a controller plugged in / activated?
(you can check in the Launcher via "Settings" -> "Controls".)

you need to activate the correlating checkbox if you want to play with a gamepad,
and you can't use a keyboard at the same time (haven't even thought of that at first).

Hi, thanks for your response. I don't have a gamepad connected nor is it enabled in control.

does you keyboard need any specific drivers or something?
maybe an antivirus tool (or something similar) is blocking it for some reason. (though i don't know why it should)
does it work with Skyrim / can you test a gamepad with Enderal?

on what drive are Steam /the Steam library located?
the standards that windows uses (C:\Program Files (x86)\ ..) are sometimes reason for issues with writing permissions.

a clean reinstall should hopefully help, as in "deleting additional folders":
- uninstall Enderal via Steam
- delete the following folders manually
-- the game-folder ...\Steam\SteamApps\common\Enderal
-- settings and saves ...Documents\My Games\Enderal
-- mod configuration ...AppData\Local\Enderal
(- reinstall as usual)
