I've been playing Enderal for a few days now and everything was going fine until yesterday when I had to switch off my pc for a couple of hours (Cleaning) now all of a sudden it's wanting me to install skyrim...

I do have the original version of Skyrim on steam (Not Installed)
I can't find a fix anywhere, I've seen similar problems but these were before Enderal's Installation not after.
Please Help

hi, welcome to the forum!

please delete the two *.ini from (...\Documents\My Games\Enderal) and let Steam verify your game files after that.
(the ini files probably got damaged somehow and want to use the skyrim launcher)

if that doesn't work look for the EnderalPrefs_default.ini and the Enderal_default.ini in \Steam\steamapps\common\Enderal.
copy them into the mygames directory and delete the _default - part (so they overwrite the normal ones)

a clean reinstall is probably in order then. your save files shouldn't be affected by this, but back them up just in case.

but could you please specify your process, i think i misinterpreted your post at first.
after playing for a few days (realtime) you shut down your PC to manually clean it, as in "remove dust"?
or did you use some software to clean your PC?
(the latter was my first thought, didn't fully realise that this probably wouldn't work with a shut down machine.)

you could also (if you haven't already) try to restart Steam.
i really don't know what happened there, but it might be worth a try


edit
just to be on the save side, maybe delete the folders
C:\Users\[YOUR NAME]\AppData\Local\Enderal
and
C:\Users\[YOUR NAME]\Documents\My Games\Enderal (after backing the saves up)

I've been spending the last few days just messing with the game code and files I must of fixed the problem somewhere along the way XD
because today was the day it launched properly.
