Some minor spoilers ahead I guess.

I absolutely love Enderal right now, but its buggy as hell, I'm going to say now I have had to cheat through console commands on a lot of main quests to get through broken dialog. But now, it's unplayable. I started the Lions Den and after finishing my conversation with themHigh Ones and getting knocked out I get a black screen, and it STAYS a black screen, even through dialog, I haven't gotten past that but. it's really sad. I saw a forum about it from 2016 and I tried all of their "fixes". Changing the HUD opacity, having OneTweak on, making sure multithreading is off, autosave is off, restarting the game/pc, etc. And none of it works! I'm really at a loss on what to do

Do you have any mods installed? if so, which ones?
Deactivate, or better uninstall them, see if that helps.

Did you try loading an earlier save?
(ideally from before entering the The Lions Den)

You could also try to let Steam verify your game files

If that doesn't help attach a savegame (no auto- or quicksave), please.
They're found in (...\Documents\My Games\Enderal\Saves) - we'll need the *.ess and the *.skse file.
Pack both to a zip/rar/whatever archive (the forum doesn't accept *.skse)

Thank you, I do not have any mods installed, I loaded in from the train station and tried it only to have the same issue (I usually rely on quicksaves and autosaves because I'm horrible at actually saving). And I just let steam verify my files, three files failed to validate. As for cheats, Im pretty sure I had to use console commands for "The first steps" to get the old man into the room, I believe it was alias second companion quest, where she takes you into a room that I had to use console commands for (Her dialog broke, she stood at the table and didn't speak), and for another quest I can't remember the name of for the life of me. I believe it before you go to Fogville when he calls in the meeting telling you about the warships (The dialog broke there too after the guy sitting on the left side spoke no one else did)

Then upload a matching quick or autosave.

Which hardware do you use (CPU, GPU, Ram)?
Running programs in the background?

- did you try to reduce the graphic details?
- is ENBoost enabled (default setting)? Try both settings.
- the same with OSAllocators und Onetweak (on/off)
- make sure that CPU and RAM usage in the “optimisations” tab are on max
- don't use ALT+TAB during loading screens, to click on a different display. It might take a long time for the game to load, even when it seems like it might already have crashed (mouse cursor becoming a circle or might be missing entirely).
- try restarting Steam and/or your PC.
- try to reinstall your game. Your saves should not be affected (but make a manual backup for safety reasons).

From that: be careful in future with your much (!) cheats. If you have a problem with a quest better ask here

Bug solutions from the first Enderal version will no longer be of much use to you in Forgotten Stories because they can already be fixed there long ago.
And save manually more often

I'll just say this now, it never crashed, my screen was just black, the dialog would play, and I would be able to select what I wanted to say with no issue, I just couldn't see anything, except for subtitles and the blood effect from when you were hit. but ill still check out all you told me, so I'll get back to you

For how long did you try to keep playing the scene?
Coarek should ask you something which you can answer (he'll answer to that),
and after that you should be able to see again.

A black screen is normal here for a short time (you were unconscious).
