Upon trying to use the crafted anvil the animation plays but the menu does not come up. I tried placing it multiple times and reloading saves with the same result.

Is has anyone come across the issue before/ is the dev team aware of any issues?

The anvil works fine for me just as it should (just tested).

Do you have any mods installed? (deactivate / uninstall this and test it again)

Please attach a save here, so we can better narrow down the error. You'll find it here: ...\Documents\My Games\Enderal\Saves.
This always includes a -.ess file and a -.skse file, these you put in an archive (-.zip), because you can't upload -.skse here.

Tried again to use the anvil but sane issue occurred. Animation plays but menu does not show.

No mods installed, only one mod was installed but it was a map replacement but has been removed.

With us everything works with your Save and your anvil, the menu is available, there is only no material for the production in the inventory.
If you get that, you can also make something.

If you don't get a menu, check your Enderal installation with Steam.
