Whenever I try to start a new game, I see the loading screen for a couple seconds and the game crashes. I have tried uninstalling Enderal, uninstalling Skyrim and SKSE, deleting all Skyrim files and folders from program files AND My Documents, reinstalling Skyrim and reinstalling Enderal and nothing is different. I have tried this process a few times with no results. Any ideas on what the issue could be?

When you write, crash at loading screen, did you mean when loading an Enderal-Saves or already at game start?
Skyrim -Saves don't work!

What kind of PC and operating system do you have?
Is Steam running and did Skyrim run correctly before?
You have Skyrim Classik or Legandary, not SkyrimSE? SE is not compatible.
Are any mods installed? SKSE is part of Enderal, please do not install separately ( is a different version).

first, I would try the 2 -.ini files below:
[ %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Skyrim ]
they will be created correctly when restarted.

It can also help to find the error if we can see your:
[ ...\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\EnderalLauncher\system\logLauncher.Log ] (just attach here for support)


When there's nothing left -> Clean-Re-Install
But if you want to reinstall anyway, save your existing saves:
[ %USERPROFILE%\\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves ]
and delete the following 3 folders after a complete uninstallation of Enderal and Skyrim:

• %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My games\skyrim

(Saves + Settings)

• %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\skyrim

(your MOD settings)

• ...\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim

(your game installation)

Make sure your installation file is in order.

Starting a new game, not loading a save. I have no saves to load as I wiped everything and started with a fresh Skyrim install. It is not the SE and there are no mods. I tried running Enderal without installing SKSE separately and was given an error saying that SKSE was not found. So I downloaded SKSE separately and the game would launch but it crashes when starting a new game as mentioned above.

Enderal uses it's own version of skse, so installing a different one will do more harm than good


could you open (not extract) the installation file please and check
if skse is present?
(there should be three skse files in the main directory and a skse folder under data)
(I'd suggest 7zip, winrar works to)

if it is there's probably an issue with your rights
and you need to manually deactivate the write protection on whatever folder
you're trying to install.
(probably program files (x86) if windows interferes)

or you just didn't install as administrator, that would be just as important.


if there aren't such files present, you need to redownload the installation file,
preferably via torrent, since the file is damaged.
(or wait for the Steam release )

(you'll need to reinstall in either case)

That's what I've read but when I installed Enderal without installing SKSE, it told me that SKSE was not found and the game would not even launch.
It's all there.

Also, my install files came straight from the torrent.

Your installation is faulty according to the log.
Check your game folder to see if there are files like skse_loader.exe and skse_steam_loader.dll.
Also the folder Skyrim\Data\SKSE must exist.
If yes, you can start ONLY as a test the skse_loader.exe.

But I guess you have write protection problems with Windows or other programs like antivirus.
(or a normal write protection on your skyrim folder)
This is unfortunately possible for installations without admin status or in the original Windows folders.

So I can only recommend you to reinstall Skyrim and Enderal as described above,
and not in the Windows folders, but e.g. in the folder C:\Games\ (\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim)
( when you have a current and bug-free version of Steam and Skyrim and the correct installation files)

Please consider all points and questions mentioned above.
