Launcher will not open. - by Divide573

I have tried numerous fixes around the web, but no matter what I do, the launcher refuses to start. I've reinstalled Skyrim several times, reinstalled the launcher, moved all files to the directory, etc. etc.

I've included the Launcher log if it comes in handy.

"numerous fixes" includes briefly disabling Antivirus/Firewall software and running the launcher as Administrator, yes?
redownloading the launcher?

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 is installed (according to the log it is) and working as it should?

is there any error message or does it just... not open?

Yes, disabled and ran as Administrator.

It is installed, although I'll have to check if it's working as it should when I have access to my PC.

It just doesn't open. No error, no anything.

Maybe your launcher is corrupted?
Did you download it here?
Maybe try again.

edit: What do you mean by

Only the launcher needs to be in the Skyrim directory.
The installation file does not have to go there. As it is described here.

So for starters, I reinstalled and downloaded it multiple times. I will try once more from here once I get home though.
For moving the files, I moved every file associated with the mod that I have just in case.
I will provide a response then.

I don't think that downloading it again will change anything
if you already tried that

could you check in the task manager what the launcher does? (or doesn't do)
(open the task manager, view 'more details', then run the launcher)
does it pop up and close? does it stay open?

you could also take a look at the event viewer, also I doubt it will help :/

after "opening" the launcher
- right-click on the start button (or search via taskbar for "event viewer")
- in that screen, open "custom views" and then something like "administrative events"
- is there anything of interest in that list on the right?

I do not know if there is a corresponding word in English. In German it could be called "Wunderheilung". Google translates literally "miracle cure"

Seriously maybe you have something changed what was effective only after PC restart.
