Given the scarcity of Alchemy Apparatus, where do folks tend to get the low level equipment from?

I managed to get the Apprentice Mortar and Pestle from the merchant along the road from the Abbey but after that, there was no equipment until I arrived at the Sanctum and all of that was owned. Since I really don't think stealing one of the sets from the Sanctum is appropriate, where do you get more Apprentice parts from?

The Sanctum does sell the ingredients and a lot of potions but won't let you buy the Apparatus.

Thanks - that specific ruin looks a little above me in level but now I know the type of places they are hidden.

EDIT : Well what a surprise... I found an Apprentice Alembic in Sildren in the Mercenary Quarters. Is the contents of chests static? If so I'll add it to the wiki.

You can buy the apprentice level equipment from Jamal in the Mage's Cave in Erothin, and from Antonia in Furtsanden.

I have not got to either of those places yet but will be on my way up to Erothin fairly soon I think.
