Does heavy armor effect your magic in any way? I looked but didnt see it mentioned

I don't think so. No penalty that I'm aware of.

That said, I think most in-game enchanted goodies that are heavy tend to benefit melee style. (Fortify heavy armor, fortify block, etc.) Fortify magicka or magical school-- usu. light armor.

The worthy Battle-Mage might have to do some enchanting on his own?

Not much but hope that helps!

I enchanted the heavy Keeper chest with 10% mana regen. I'm just using that and fortify elemental on everything.

So how do you enchant? So far haven't encountered any enchanting tables. Do I just find loot and disenchant the light armor pieces that I want and then enchant the heavy armor? Would that be viable? I'd really like to go heavy armor with mage but yeah I'd suck if I chose heavy and then basically rule out every magic armor piece in the game and having to enchant everything yourself. I don't want to look like a pansy robe mage but also have good magic heavy armor.

There are enchanting tables in many caves, dungeons, forts, etc. You can have one if you buy a house in Ark. There is one in the Sun Temple area. Some merchants have them, sometimes in a back room. As in Skyrim, you have to destroy an enchanted item to learn that enchantment, then you need an item, soul stone and known enchantment to enchant an item. That being said, enchanting in Enderal is very weak, even if your enchanting skill is quite high. You can find armor, especially set items, that have much better enchantments that what you can do yourself.

Yeah I took a look in the wiki and saw some very cool non-robe light armor sets, so I think I can for light armor. It's good now I don't have to complicate it with enchanting I can forget about that. Thanks.
