[SOLVED] Sudden restart of system with error 'BlueScreen' - by human_dictionary

On a trip to the whisperwoods to kill PakPak my monitor suddenly lost input and my computer rebooted with a dialog 'Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown' with error code 'BlueScreen'. I have played several hours to this point with only the rare CTD but never this. Now when reloading any of my previous saves it reboots the system before I get to gameplay. After several loading attempts, the launcher suddenly failed to see the installation files and I was forced to reinstall, but the reboots persisted. I saw a potential fix opening Enderal from TESV.exe instead of the launcher, but doing that my monitor lost input before even the menu loaded, although my system didn't reboot after waiting and I had to crash it manually. Any suggestions for possible causes/fixes would be welcome.

Specs:
AMD Phenom II X4 955 @3.4GHz
ASUS (AMD) R7 250X 2GD5
4GB DDR3 @1066MHz
C: 120GB Kingston SSD
D: (where Enderal is in my steam directory) 1TB Seagate HDD @7200rpm

This usually happens if you have any overclocked GPU/CPU etc. in your computer.

Please attach your savegame and tell me where to go to get a crash.
Savegames can be found here: documents\mygames\skyrim\saves
A savegame consists of two files: one .skse and one .ess (please zip them together)
Thanks.

After some digging the problem has been found and solved, but I guess I should give the full story.

For a few days before the problem began, I would on occasion smell something like burning plastic around my computer. Of course I opened it up but I couldn't find the source of the smell so I assumed it was okay (mistake 1). Then, while playing enderal, my computer crashed, so I immediately assumed it was a problem with the unstable, slightly buggy mod (mistake 2). After finding nothing wrong with my graphics drivers, I tried other games and they too crashed, so I worried that the burning I had smelled was something on my GPU (mistake 3).

Turns out the burning smell was only one of the wires connecting my GPU to my PSU melting (I assume the connection was loose after I rewired my PC a few weeks ago and the spark melted the rubber). This meant that while the 'power' indicator on my GPU was lit green, whenever it asked to draw on extra power (it does so for more taxing things like games), it wouldn't receive any and would crash. A slight rewiring of my PC fixed the issue. Thanks Tilliboy for your help

Good to hear that you find the problem yourself!
Have fun playing again (hopefully without bluescreen)! :)
