CTD when entering Silvergrove [solved] - by Zeffenn

I'm not sure what information I need to provide, but I will provide any info needed.

I am currently working on the "A Song of Silence" quest and I have just entered the gates at Silvergrove. I am about to cross the water (the waterwheel is on my left) and as soon as my feet hit the water, the game crashes to desktop. I have tried a number of graphical options hoping that this may solve the problem but to no avail. I can move laterally along the waters edge, but as soon as I cross an unseen barrier, the game crashes every time. I have really enjoyed this game and would like to complete it.

EDIT: Solved by simply restarting the computer!

To make easier for dev's to help, they might ask you to attach a zip file with two save files in it. One with the usual "ess" extension & also the one with .skse

Default path is usually

Documents > My Games > Skyrim > Saves

Hope that helps & best wishes!

Well that's an uncommon crash. The area is very heavy in graphical aspects.
Could you check if your graphics card is overheating or similar. Try to restart the whole computer. Does the crash still occur?
Does it occur if you see to the ground while walking? And does it occur if you walk a detour around the water?

I tested a little bit around with your savegame. No crash at all.

Problem solved!
I have a new EVGA 1080 FTW that is not currently overclock and it was not over heating. I am using a 4790K processor set to 4.4 Ghz and it was not overheating either. Framerate was ~50 FPS at the point where the game was crashing. I tryed looking at the water, looking up, down. Also tried a detour over by the waterfall to the left. Problem still happened.

Restarting the computer solved the problem though, so thank you very much for reminding me of the basics!
