There are some books on tables and counters which say "Read Earnings" Press E

These don't work and I would like some further explanation.

Also I wish to know what the share interest is in your own bank vault. how does that work

Those earning books are just there for the aesthetics, no real gameplay reason.

If you put 9000 gold in the bank, that gold will come back as 250 gold interest. 8000 gold comes back as close to 220 gold each day and so on.
