I am currently on the part of this quest where you need to gather moonglow moths but I can't find any. I thought they only appear at night but I can't find a bed in silvergrove to sleep in and the time is stuck (I assume this isn't a bug though). Sharpen senses doesn't help me find any either if it's supposed to. What am I doing wrong here?

I think this may actually be a bug but I need some verification before submitting it as one.

Edit: Yep definitely bugged. After a massive amount of quicksaving/loading mixed with restarting skyrim they finally started spawning.

I have tried all the solutions given but I simply can't get any of the moths to spawn, could someone give me the item id of the moths in the jars to help me get on with the otherwise fantastic game.

Yes, silbergroove is buggy because of its timescale (0)
Theoretically you can set the quest on the next stage: (Save manually before)
Type in the console: Enter

Then just go to Rynéus

Moths keep spawning there and they do make that noise when they fly nearby, I got all 15 and still saw more later on when I passed by there.
