After playing the game for a while i found out about the secret classes from one of those hints the game gives you while loading, and the merchant in ark that tells you about the Qyrian assassin, i was a Sinistrope/Adventurer and didn't want to waste my points so i searched for the combos in google and went for 10 points in trickster next, but i didn't get a new class or anything, is the wiki out of date? (currently level 24, 12 points in each tree)

You should have "arcane archer" class now, it should be shown on your character page (H key) and the benefits should be shown on your magic page (P key, right column).

well.... i know that.... it doesn't....... thats why i said i didnt get the affinity :/

Some recent patches have changed things a bit. It used to be the affinity would just appear in your stats page without any fanfare. Now, I've noticed, when I put the final point (of second the 10 needed) and transition back to the real world, after several seconds, I get a pop-up giving me the choice to accept the new affinity or not. [I also noticed that in one save, although I had the affinity before the patch, after the patch I no longer had it, but what I described happened after adding another point.] You might try adding one more point to either or each tree and see if this happens for you.

Just saw a post in the support section that you must have 10 different memories in each tree, not just 10 points. So if you put 3 points into one of those memories with 3 tiers, it would only count as 1 memory towards the 10 you need in the tree. Does that help?

just registered to say I'm having the same problem, and -funnily enough- with the same class: arcane archer, also made from sinistrope (and trickster, obviously). I do have over 10 different memories in both trees (I only didn't unlock one memory in either tree, the rest is completely filled) and I'm already level 40. still no affine class, no pop up, nothing.

I have 4 points to spend since I'm not sure where I want to put them yet and so I tried to completely fill sinistrope and trickster trees and go back to the real world. didn't work.

I also have 4 or 5 points put into thaumaturge but that shouldn't make any difference, unless it somehow bugs out bc both thaumaturge and sinistrope mixed with trickster can make arcane archer?

eventually I just started thinking that maybe I need to "unlock" that class by hearing/reading about it in game, so it shows up in your quest log/journal. I got info about 4 or 5 other classes but not the arcane archer, so I thought that makes sense. although it doesn't say anywhere (at least in English version) that actually learning ABOUT the class is required to acquiring it.

any ideas/insight?

You do not need to have learned about the special class before to unlock it. The quest "The Art of War" merely serves as a reminder which combinations you already know of. The quest is completed as soon as you unlock your special class, no matter if it was in the list or not. At least it worked for me some patches ago, but I don't think they have changed it in the meantime (wasn't arcane archer, though).

I tested a few affinities when I had 15 memory points left. You need points in 10 different memories per class which are NOT talent(also, multiple pints in memory with ranks still count as one).

Not sure if this is a bug on the wiki or a bug inside that script function but it has no checks for the path of Sinistrope combined with Trickster. All well there goes all the points I placed in that path to unlock - not a complete waste I guess.

Currently Arcane archer is only achievable by a combination of Trickster and (Elementalist or Thaumaturge).

Hey mods, is there any plan or discussion of adding other special classes for different combinations? I'm playing a blade dancer/elementalist/light armor dude and none of those three combine into any special classes. After looking over the classes other people have unlocked, none of them really mesh with my playstyle, at least not the playstyle I'm going for this session, and I would have to completely restart to respec my character to meet the criteria for the other classes (unless there is a respec option ingame I'm unaware of?)

Thanks for taking the time to look at this. and I'm loving the mod so far!

Funny thing is that i thought the Blade Dancer and Elementalist would Affine. When you find out about that Old Keeper that can use swords and magic, I assumed it was Blade Dancer, Not Vagrant
