If system hangs in Windows 10 because of Steam or Enderal updates, here's how I accidentally fixed it. (If happens to anyone else.)
In task manager under details tab, select svchost.exe
You can't shut this down without rebooting, so a message box appears with a check box. "Windows requires this, sure you want to reboot anyway? Etc."
Click the "Yes" check box & "reboot" or "OK" button. (forget what it said exactly)
Blue screen: "Windows has encountered a fatal error and is gathering diagnostic information, etc., etc."
I was only after a way to do a soft reboot, but have to hand it to Microsoft. Tried Enderal
one last time expecting I'd have to reinstall game.
Presto! Enderal ran like it did before two updates may have conflicted with each other, or maybe something got corrupted. Whatever it was, "
MS to the rescue!" Never thought I'd be saying that about a corporate giant.
