Like when I finished the quest "Gnardalf must die!" and just before I could name my new donkey, the game's camera froze and an in-game cursor popped up, but the music, ambient sound, cross-hair, and quest completion animation all played and functioned like normal, so it definitely hadn't crashed.

I did a bit of testing, too, and tried buying a horse, which resulted in the same problem and the game soft locked just before I was supposed to name it. I'm pretty sure it's not a problem with my mods, because I tired uninstalling all of them a few times and that didn't fix the problem, but maybe someone out there who also has the most recent version of the game could try verifying this and see if they have the same problem.

Yes Currently have the same problem and it seems like i can use the console.
I think i might be able to do something with console commands , "enableplayercontrols" doesn't work.
Have you found a fix ?

I am also having the same problem. I get the whole quest completed animation then the game just simply freezes. I tested the quest setstage nq06_freda to 45 and the game freezes regardless where i am at. The problem is at the stage completion event.

I attempted to restart the game without any mods and the problem resurfaced the second i attempted to auto finish the quest via setstage. So the mods are not at fault.

Please Bump i can't continue the game.

Does it freeze with the newest patch and launcher?

Nope it didn't fix it.

Your bug is not reproducible. I've got a lot of missing mods displayed with your savegame.
Disable them. Probably some of them causing the problem.

I already tried that as the first person said the same , tried this on a vanille + enderal skyrim with no mods , problem persists i will upload the save file i need to clean the save file.

Hmm, finding this bug with 82 mods installed in your savegame is really tedious ^^. Instead try to copy the Interface folder from the link below into your Data folder and try again.
