Loving the game- A few questions and a little critique - by Pablo Splinter

Hi all. Really enjoying the game. Very impressed, and I have a few questions.

1. Does the game make use of radiant quests like Skyrim does?...I know a lot of people don#t like them, but I think they definitely have a place.
2. On a few occasions I have entered a building and been attacked straight away by something that seems out of place, for example in the Undercity, in one of the barracks there was some kind of creature that attacked me before I had a chance to do anything and lost most of my health. Is this right or a bug?
3. The game could really do with a good guild questline. Any chances?...For some reason when playing this, I was reminded of the mod 'The Lost Spires' from Oblivion and thought something like that would work really well. OR some kind of archaeology guild.
4. I am not a fan of the levelling tbh, I really like the Skyrim method, simple and effective. I keep seeing people mention 'trainers'. but I haven't come across any. Could anyone just quickly describe them to me please?

And one small piece of critique: Personally, I am finding that in the quests I have done so far, your hand is held a bit too much. Example- In the quest where you have to get a key from some guys sister in the Undercity, you return to the guy to find him gone, and the quest updates saying to go to someone's house to look for clues. That is really not needed tbh, a simple objective of 'investigate what happened' or something would have been much better, and you could work the rest out for yourself. There have been other times like this, but that is the one that stuck out to me.

Overall I am incredibly impressed and very grateful for this mod/game. I have already bored people to death going on about it and trying to get every one I know to play it!

Thanks a lot

The game could really do with a good guild questline.
The Golden Sickle quests will probably be activated in a patch; from what I've read there will be choices and 5 different possible endings to that quest line.

Someone who actually liked the Radiant Quests... interesting, but suit yourself. I am pretty sure most Enderal players would not be happy to have these generic "fetch this, kill that"-quests back. But if you enjoyed them, you will probably like the "Wanted in ..."-quests, where you can do some bounty hunting.

I guess that was during the "Divide and Conquer"-quest. They never really explain what the pus beetle is doing there, other than keeping you from proceeding in the quest with a low level. I can't remember any other enemies that seemed to be out of place. I guess endralean spiders simply do like abandoned places.

No trainers, just skill books.

I ran across some Vatyrs in the undercity, that surprised me to find them there.

I appreciated them for what they were, just optional little tasks that get you exploring. I wasn't looking for deep stories in them. You are in the thieves guild, so go and steal something for coin. Just a simple little piece of gameplay that might send you somewhere you wouldn't otherwise go. Other ones might maybe send you to a dungeon to fetch something or kill someone. That sounds like a throwaway generic quest, but all it does is facilitate the standard gameplay, which is exploring and going through dungeons.

I thought they might be useful in this simply because it seems that money is quite important for a few things, so it might be a way to raise some coin. They aren't anything groundbreaking, but I do think they have a place in RPGs as something optional.

Also, there I have another question. I am currently wearing a ring that says 'sneak is 7% better'. How is it doing that? Because my sneak skill isn't it increasing according to my hero screen.

Cheers

According to one of the bard songs the Vatyrs originally came from the Undercity. It is certainly not historically accurate, but there is a connection to the place. It says that Vatyra, the ruler of the Undercity, gave birth to them because of her, let's say extravagant, lifestyle.

But you don't need quests to go exploring, I explored almost all of Enderal except the places that were locked/blocked, before doing the main quest. Just do it! One possible downside is that some obsessive players (such as I) want to do every side quest in the game, and might be "compelled" into doing them just because they are there, just as there are some players who want to just zip through the main quest, say "I finished it", carve another notch in their gun and move on.

And, in a manner of speaking, there is a mega side quest (even though it doesn't show as such) to find all 100 magic symbols. That will take you on some serious exploring!

I'm 34 hours in now. Really enjoying it, but I think I would say the one thing that is slightly disappointing is the combat. I really think they could have done more with it. I have added Ultimate Combat which has helped, especially the timed blocking in it.IT would have been nice if they had included a few more perks such as timed blocking to mix the game up a bit.

Another thing I would say is that I think it would greatly benefit form at least one other small town or village in the game. Ark is amazing, really love it, but a few small villages about the size of, say, Riverwood from Skyrim would be excellent imo.
