After the most recent update Enderal wont launch. - by Badlincoln

I click "Launch Enderal" and nothing happens. No error message of any kind. Not sure if the info above is relevant but just in case its there. I know this is not much information but without an error code im kinda lost.

Mine is sort-of doing that. It'll launch, and go to the main menu, but the screen with be black. I click new game and then it just sits there. Sounds like yours, or is yours not launching at all?

Not at all. Ive tried all the normal stuff like restarting and running as admin, stuff like that. But I just click the launch button and it does nothing no new window of any kind.

It won't launch for me either -- it just says "enderal needs an update" when I try to launch it -- but it looks like Skyrim.esm and Update.esm are missing as well as the enderal .bsa files in the data folder? I checked my backup enderal folder and couldn't find them or the skyrim.esm!

Just to clarify I have played before im about 18 hours in. And the only thing that changed from it working to not working was the update.

I got mine to work again! I switched to back to skyrim, and then back to Enderal and that seemed to fix it! I backed up my save before I did it to be safe -- but maybe try that to see if it fixes it for you?

Well... after I did that now when I click it it says "Enderal Needs An Update First." When I goto the update tab it says its up to date.

What do you mean by switched back to skyrim? Launched skyrim?

Same problem here. After hitting new, the screen goes blank and nothing happens. Or to be more specific;
The music plays, the screen turns black. The game mouse pointer is present and I can enter Console. But thats it.

I have a similar problem, after the last updates, whenever I try to start skyrim, wether through the enderal launcher or through skse or the regular skyrim launcher, I keep getting the pop up screen saying: Skyrim is preparing to launch, which is repeatedly showing up and disappearing.

I have already tried swapping out the skyrim folder, and then back to the enderal folder, but that regrettably didnt work.

Hey guys,

for those who keep getting that "needs an update" message look at the link below:

In this case here:

[...] or the launcher displays that everthing is installed but you can't start the game, go to this directory: C:\program files(x86)\Steam\Steamapps\common\Skyrim\EnderalLauncher\system\config.sur. Edit the file (it's a textfile) with e.g. Notepad++ in this way: replace the "sCurrentVersion" with an older version (safest: "1.1.0.0").

If you do not have your launcher/game in C:, just search for the EnderalLauncher folder in the Skyrim folder.

For the other problems our Launcher programmer needs to look into the issue.

Try to click on Settings in the launcher and Save setting. It worked for me, its weird.

Raicyk, I have been having the same trouble and this is not a fix for the launcher, but you can launch enderal from your skyrim folder by launching "skse_loader".

Hi All

I had the same issue. Was playing just fine when it suddenly crashed out to the launcher and wouldn't start back up. I updated it and it said it needed to 'Restart the Launcher', but it never came back.

Have tried all the suggested solutions. I've already played quite a few hours and don't want to lose it. HALP!!

Since you've listed a bunbch of problems in this thread:
Launcher does not run: Download the newest launcher from our website and overwrite the old one.

Update problems: Wiki page for update problems

installation problem: Uninstall Enderal via Launcher, reinstall Skyrim, verify Skyrim's game cache, download a new installation package (we recommend the torrent), follow this installation guide.

I've found the solution to the enderal launcher running the skyrim launcher: set skse_loader.exe and enderal launcher.exe to run as administrator.
