So far I'm really enjoying Enderal, but have run into some issues. Firstly is a frame rate issue. I have a pretty capable laptop (i5-2520m and Radeon 8950M), but I'm experiencing a great deal of variability in frame rates. In some exterior areas, I'm getting 25fps and a n others 55 fps at 1080p. I've tried turning all the experimental optimizations on and dialing back the draw distance to 10, but still get weird dips in some areas (the covered bridge on the way to Riverville is a good example.) I suspect the problem may be the vegetation density in Enderal. I tried reducing it by putting iMinGrassSize=60 in skyrim.ini, but it didn't seem to make much difference. Any other thoughts?
Some of the encounter placements just don't make sense and break immersion. For example, I found a bandit camp about 30 feet away from a bear den. In order to get to the camp, the bandit would have to pass within five feet of the bear, and there was no other way into the camp. Similarly, I found a farm with an abandoned cellar full of rats. However, deeper in the cellar were a group of bandits. Were the bandits paying the rats a toll to pass, or were they just old pals?
