We're not sure, how we make the translation. We know clearly, we would have an ten times bigger playerbase, if we release an English version too (the Cube told us this story). So, it might be stupid do not release in English. Our problem at the moment: we don't know how. But we will work this out, after the release of the German version.

Just recruit english people to talk, and some germans to translate. I don't know. But I really hope you can make a total translation :) And please release some teaser videos or screenshots :D

The problem is that SureAI does not release flawed work, so the translation would have to be fitting and grammatically correct. As you can imagine there are not that many people who are well educated enough to the job appropriately, have enough spare time and motivation at the same time ;P
Also consider that the original German dialogues include well over 30k words. ^^

I'm pretty confident that there will be a translation though - my American friends do hope so that is  - since there already was a group working on it, it's just going to take a little more time...

cuz things didnt go so smoothly :P

Just asking, has there been much to fix and repair?

I suppose, before the test with the autors started, there were very much bugs. But now there are only some smaller faults, for example some faults in quests or dialogues and books.

The problem is that most Germans do not really speak and/or write the English language to a degree of perfection that would make it possible to simply translate it like that. There has already been some effort in this direction, but I don't know if you're aware of how hard it is to translate common phrases, idioms and colloquial language in an acceptable way.
Of course you could just let native English speakers correct the mistakes (given that they understand the meaning of everything), but that just takes a lot of time. Nonetheless I believe the team would be glad to be hearing from you wanting to participate. ;)

I cannot really speak for the team, but since Nehrim had professional voice actors for the German version I can't really see them taking that a huge step back, no offense :P

Many English speaking people told us, that they want the professional German voices in Nehrim and just English subtitles. And that is what we do.

Yes that what i meant. I could like help you write the books right, and something simple like translating der eimer to a bucket :D That's by the way the only german word I know. But you get the idea what i could do.

How does it look like with the translation? Any people working on it or ready to start once the first release is out? I'm really interested in this, since a lot of people I know will be playing the English version and I took the liberty to promote Nehrim on Oblivion's Real Estate. (I'm translating the Gamersglobal test review for the site forums too by the way.)

We're working on the translation and making good progress. But a release together with the German version won't be possible.

I didn't expect that much as an English release at the same time, would be too much wishful thinking. It's great to hear that the translation is progressing steadily though, this should keep the guys from going crazy after the German release.

In the time I was working on the English translation it occured to me that although we have actual bilingual native speakers and highly motived people there still is the problem with the perfection. When editing the German texts I always tried to make them flawless, and that should also be the goal for the EV, but since even most Americans (can't tell about British here...) graduate from school without even being able to write correct English (not to speak of the average German student), it proofs kind of tricky to make it work.

I don´t know if our friends which can´t speak german already know the newest information about the release date.
In the german part of the forum was much discussing and speculating about the release date.
So I just want to summerize it short in english. SureAI gives Nehrim to the german Pc magazine "Pc Games" so that they can put it on the magazine-DVD. So SureAI has to give the finish Version to Pc Games until the 9th of June. But the magazine is only released on the 30th of June. So the release of the german version will be sometime between those dates, more likely in the former part of this time range, because on the german part of Nehrim.de (the red written text) stands that instead of that red text will be (in the early June) the download link for Nehrim.
When the english version will be released is not known already. But it will depend on weather the english version will be set to voices or not.

Hmm, so can I take it, that it still isn't decided if there will be English voice acting included in the translation? Or did I get it wrong somewhere? :?

Our English version will only have translated texts, no voice acting.
