This is very strange. Is your System Restore going crazy?
In case you have Nehrim in your C:\Programs (or similar) directory, it is best to reinstall it somewhere else to avoid UAC hassle.

I am not going to try to go farther in this game; it's pretty much impossible without light. It would be interesting to know how many people who started this game ever got out of the mine. I played Risen for 6 months and after wandering around in volcano keep with little light and the lizardmen, I've pretty well had it with dark caves/mines etc. I'll wait for Two World 2 to come out in Jan.

well , i have the same problem but until now i ve managed with the quick- and auto-save....

You can't play Nehrim just using quicksave and autosave.
Try the console command "save blah". It should save your game as "blah.ess".

Use the hint that Nehrim Techniker gave me on 12/12/2010. Use the tilde, then type CODE:SELECT ALL. (I don't remember if there's a space between SELECT and ALL). It works really well and stays with your game. Later, if you want to save, just use the tilde and type save, space and the name of your savegame(one word).

It worked , thank you very much !! Btw , ive played for aprox. 4 hours and i like the game very much , i have just one small problem : everithyng runs very well until one or more foes apear, i mean the graphics become very laggy . I have CPU phenom i7 , 4gb ram and ati 5890 graphic card

It's a type of internet fores, like the one you are currently browsing.
Users on a phpBB forum have usernames and ranks. My name is arvisrend, my rank is Nehrim Techniker, not the other way round.
Also, "code: select all" is not part of the code but rather the heading of the field where the code goes. You don't have to type it in the console.
