Every tool, assuming it’s not broken, should calculate the same checksum. Otherwise, what would be the point of verification?

The size of the archive I had downloaded (through torrent) is 8,427,964,531 bytes – its sum you already know. Yours has a different sum, which means it’s of different size and/or contents, but it doesn’t automatically mean that it’s broken.

thing is i don't necessarily trust these windows tools. i just tried another MD5 tool, which even generated another checksum...

but in any case, the torrent should produce a correct file since otherwise the torrent wouldn't work at all. it's also not so likely that i torrent the file twice and get the same error in the downloaded file separate from each other so i expect something else to be the cause of this.

Maybe this has something to do with different language versions or such?

and somehow, it just worked. i think the fault was somewhere in steam downloading the high res textures DLC and always resetting that.

i think i did these steps: uninstall enderal, repair steam skyrim, restart computer, repair skyrim again, restart computer, reinstall enderal.

not sure how many of the restarts were actually necessary for this to work. i guess the main point is:
- uninstall enderal
- repair steam
- make sure DLCs are off (it persists when reinstalling)
- repair steam again
- reinstall enderal
