So I've just started playing enderal, around 2-3 hours maybe. Right now, I'm doing that mission that jespar gave you.
I've retrieved the content of the strongbox and now I'm looking after Alfrid who I think resides somewhere near Riverville.

I got killed a few times going through the forest so instead of doing that again, I decided to just follow the coastline.
By following the coastline I entered Riverville through this small farm with a (forgot the name, the one owned by a guy and there
was a rhino in the stable).

Therein lies the problem. Every time I entered Riverville through the man's farm, I got a CTD (tried it 3 times). So at first I thought that maybe it's just a problem with the farm. Because of this "reasoning", I decided to go around by heading towards that Tower first (You know, the mini map indicator looks like a tower). But I got another CTD doing this method.

So right now I'm assuming that there's something wrong with Riverville.

Can anyone please help me with this? Because I'm so frustrated right now.

Owh and I always get this message about SKSE.ini at the start of the game to set DefaultHeapInitialMB=768. Already done that. And the skyrim that I'm using for enderal is a clean, no mod (I installed the modded skyrim in a different directory).

Although I've set the SKSE.ini as asked by the game, the message still appears everytime.

Man, I don't know about CTDs, but I can help you about SKSE message. I installed this: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/75795/?, and in Skyrim/Data/SKSE/Plugins, in file "CrashFixPlugin.ini", under "Patch", set "UseOSAllocators" to 1, and message disappeared.

Thanks man haha, well I did something else besides that. I installed the d3dx9_42.dll from my other skyrim folder. If I remember correctly, doing so will help stabilize skyrim (STEP Guide).

Well it kind of helped, I still got a CTD but at least I managed to enter Riverville, talked to Alfrid, talked to that kid, got a few new side quests, and stayed at the inn (and the gambling was fun!!! I got around 200 something coins from playing that war of something lol). But in the morning, I left the city to head back towards Yero's house. Right outside Riverville, I got another CTD.

So maybe there's indeed something wrong with Riverville??

These CTD's usually happen if some meshes etc. are corrupted and the game tries to load them.

Just upload me one of your Savegame, so we can test if the problem is savegame related/persistent:
Savegames can be found here: documents\mygames\skyrim\saves
A savegame consists of two files: one .skse and one .ess (please zip them).

Anyway I would recommend an uninstall of Enderal via the Enderal launcher (Do not us the archive function! Uninstall it completely!).
Download a fresh installation package. We recommend the torrent!
