Hi, I've gone back to Oblivion after completing Nehrim, but I seem to be crashing when using certain spells. I was thinking that it was the hand animation, but using other schools of magic that use that animation doesn't crash it. Then thought it might be the red magical effect causing it. Bound items spells also crash it, invisibility spells, restoration and fortity spells, and dispel. Seems to be only on self spells, touch and target seem to be fine.

The only thing that I can think of that effect it is I have recently uninstalled Nehrim, as I also had to reinstall a few files from the DarkUI mod as that was causing problems crashing as they must have been overwritten by Nehrim. I could try and do trial and error hunt but I'm not sure if that would be any good and could take a long time, time saved if someone has an idea where to look. I could reinstall the whole game again but as a last resort, especially as I have quite a long list of mods. Thanks.
Can you completely uninstall Nehrim and Oblivion and install them again, without any mods (but with the 1.2.0416 patch for Oblivion)? Normally, when Oblivion mods are the problem, this is the easiest solution.
Thanks for the reply. I found the cause of the problem though, it was some missing files from the DarkUI mod. I think Nehrim must've overwritten some of, or deleted some of those files I had from the DarkUI mod, because it puts them in the same place. Completely reinstalling all the necessary files instead of just a few files from the DarkUI mod has solved the problem, and it no longer crashes.
a tip about switching between nehrim & oblivion, keep an eye on you oblivion.ini file. i keep two, one for oblivion and one for nehrim. not doing so can mess with savegames if you have certain mods installed (samegames with a few specific mods don't like it when you mess with various ini settings during a play-through). Had to delete 6 characters that I had worked on for months because the saves crashed as soon as I loaded them, not fun.
Yep, we learn as we go. I did have a normal defualt ini file in a seperate safe folder for Oblivion which I had to use after, but not one for Nehrim though. Thanks Casper.
