Atmosphere Sound Issues

I hope someone can help me here but first I would just like to say that Nehrim has been the most amazing RPG experience I have ever had. Amazing work!! I cant say enough how incredible this game has been for me. What a labor of love.

Anyways I am having trouble with sound cutting in and out. Not voices or rain, but stuff like waterfalls, water, wind, fire, someone playing the lute either gets cut off or is none existent. I barely hear any birds or crickets or wind rustling through the trees. Never hear any water bubbling in a brook. When I approach a water fall I barely ever hear it. It seems like there is barely if any atmosphere sounds at all. I walk through the forest and I don't hear anything 98% of the time except for my footsteps. It really ruins the immersion experience. I was wondering if there was any way to add mods like More Immersive Sounds or Stereo Sound Overhaul to Nehrim. It would just make the game like a million times better!!
