EnderalSE.dll is not loaded?

Hello everyone.

Yesterday I bought Skyrim Special Edition from Steam just to be able to play Enderal.

I installed from Steam Enderal Special Edition and after the launcher, on the home screen, when I click on new game for a moment it seems that it will start, but immediately I get the following message and returns me to the home screen:

"EnderalSE.dll is not loaded! The game will not run properly. Verify integrity of your files.
This may also happen, if your version of SKSE or Enderal is too old. In this case, it is advised to upgrade".


My computer more than meets all the minimum requirements.


Things I've tried that didn't fix it:

Verify file integrity.

Run as administrator.

Reinstall Endereal and Steam.

Install Skyrim.

Modify the settings in a thousand ways.

Hello gomiton!

Possible solutions:

1. your anti-virus program may be causing problems here (e.g. Windows defender or another program you are using). Put the Enderal SE folder there on the white list.

2. disable the write protection that Windows may have set on the game folder (right-click on folder -> Properties -> uncheck "read-only")

3. if this does not help please send us your launcher.log here as an attachment (...\Steam\SteamApps\common\Enderal Special Edition\EnderalLauncher\system\log)

Skyrim SE does not need to be installed to play Enderal SE. They are separate games with their own folders.

Unfortunately neither the antivirus nor the folder protection worked.

I also moved the game to another drive with no results.

My operating system is Windows 10 recently upgraded.

But you haven't installed skse separately manually (or any mods)?
A customised skse version is already integrated in the game.

I only installed SKSE from Steam (I knew it wasn't necessary but I had to try it just in case) and no other mods. It's a bummer, I really wanted to play this, and I bought SK for that sole purpose as I've already given it a thousand spins on PS3. Thank you so much Kermit for taking the time to look into it.

Yes, Enderal requires SKSE.
However, it must/may not be installed manually as it is already integrated.
Other SKSE versions lead to errors.
But you are not the first to experience this
So reinstall Enderal SE (without manual SKSE version) and it should work.

One more note: if you want to install mods, it's best to limit yourself to those written for Enderal SE (yes I know there are some compatible Skyrim mods).
