Launcher does nothing [solved]

I was playing normally without crashes for a few hours and suddenly my game crashed.
When I tried to relaunch the game I opened the launcher through steam and it launched but when i click the "start enderal" button nothing happens, the launcher does not close, or crash or even attempt to launch the game.
I have validated the game files, tried to launch without any mods, and i have reinstalled completely, but nothing has worked so far. Please help
UPDATE: embarrassingly, restarting my computer fixed it, sorry for the bother
