The living Temple could only communicate with Firespark who went crazy after the revelation and tried to kill the Prophet thus taking the secret to his grave.

The Aged man stated that "you can not force insight to a man".He simply did not believe that he could make you see what is going on.Probably got disillusioned with mankind after he tried to save it and failed.

More likely these beings have given up on humanity. They standby and watch the folly of humanity time and time again. They accepted their depressive fate. Or at least they think they cannot do anything about it. The Goliath was imprisoned in his own metal body and the Aged Man is more likely imprisoned in his own mansion.
