Secrets from the Can rewards. [solved]

500 exp, all 100 gold.
<Give him half the gold like you promised>
400 exp, 50 gold.
<Scam kid and keep 2/3rds>
425 exp, 67 gold.

What the hell is the point of this set of options? Also, there is no change in actor affinity towards the player, and the NPCs don't let you take any extra goods, nor do they give you ANYTHING. There are zero dialogue options. Why is the player rewarded extra experience for scamming the child, as well as telling the child to fuck off? Am I missing something or is this game just about rewarding bad people for being bad people?

Is this a bug? Should I report this?

It's a bug. Giving the child half the money should result in getting more EP, and vice-versa (Though telling the kid to screw off should be slightly more lucrative.)
