Launcher Cannot Find TESV.exe [solved]

I have Retail version of the game not Steam. I put Launcher in game dir yet it cannot find TESV.exe... I have Game of the year edition which has all mods n DLCs included.

I have a similar problem. I have a retail version of Skyrim, but I also created another copy of the Skyrim folder for Enderal, located at D:\Games\Enderal. (I know Enderal creates a backup of Skyrim, but I wanted to be able to go back and forth more easily.)

It works if I use the original version of the launcher downloaded from the website (Version 1.1.0.1 I think? Possibly 1.1.0.0). However, after I updated to 1.1.0.3, it would fail to find TESV.exe. I still had a copy of the old launcher, so I put that in the install directory, and it worked. Updating to 1.1.0.4 has the same problem, though the old launcher still works.

What is the name of the folder that you guys actually have TESV.exe in? By default, it is in "Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim". I've seen a lot of people mentioning this error in situations where they've renamed that folder from "Skyrim" to something different. It looks like the launcher in question that people are having issues with is looking for that folder name for the Enderal game files. Make sure that in your cases it is actually named "Skyrim" and see if that helps any.

How to patch if it's not detecting game ? My game is installed in E:\Games\TSEV\ It's retail GOTY edition... Not steam. This version has no ties to steam...

What is your path to TESV.exe? Is it "Games\TESV\Skyrim\TESV.exe"? The 1.1.0.4 patch notes only state that Skyrim's install must be located in the "Skyrim" directory ... not necessarily that it must be in the complete default path. Perhaps you could point the Enderal installation process to your Skyrim folder (assuming it is named "Skyrim") instead of the default Steam installation Skyrim folder.

Go to the download site and download the Enderal launcher again, overwrite it to the launcher in your game directory. This works for me.

It's E:\Games\TESV\TESV.exe.. I mean can't they make it prompt us to point to game location like other installers ? Geez...

Just rename the main directory Skyrim.
