Hey,
I am trying to get arktwend to work but somehow cant seem to figure out how. I have bought morrowind when it came out, so i have the game as well as all the expansions on CD's. I have followed all the instructions i could find, but no matter where i install the arktwend mod i cant even get the basic launcher to start. It always says that the launcher cannot be find or something like that. Any advice on how to get it to work or some special procedure?
I have followed this guide
http://morrowind2009.wordpress.com/tota ... d-english/
but to no avail
i have downloaded all the files from SureAI site, except the english translation which i got from a topic around here.
Any help be much appreciated:)

Halo, I will post the install instructions from the current Arktwend English 3.2Beta3 Readme below. Let me know if they are unclear in any way:
Code: Alles auswählen
INSTALLATION
* Before you install Arktwend, it is HIGHLY recommended that you choose a
different install location than your regular Morrowind directory. This is
because the Arktwend install will overwrite files, including Morrowind.ini.
You can find some ideas on how to create a separate install on Burrowind's
"ten-step installation tutorial" page here:
http://morrowind2009.wordpress.com/total-conversion-arktwend-english/
(these instructions are outdated in some respects now)
Or at the Bethsoft forums topic here:
http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/832760-how-to-run-multiple-copies-of-morrowind/
* If you have not already done so, Run the German installer:
Arktwend_DvR_Install_v2.0.0.de.exe from SureAI:
http://sureai.net/projects/arktwend/download/
* Then manually unpack the Arktwend_English archive to the Morrowind
directory and verify that Arktwend_English.esm is put into "Data Files".
This will also put a Morrowind.ini in your Morrowind directory, which must
be used for playing Arktwend. THE ORIGINAL MORROWIND.INI WILL NOT WORK WITH
ARKTWEND. Neither will the version that comes with German Arktwend. If you
already have played "Arktwend English", then you should already have a
working Morrowind.ini, you may want to take steps to not overwrite it when
you install. Installation of the archive with Wrye Mash Installer function
is problematic, because Mash assumes you want to unpack to the "Data Files"
directory, but this archive needs to be unpacked to the Morrowind
directory, so the recommended installation procedure is manually unpacking
the archive.
If you want to use Mash anyway, do this: unpack the Arktwend English
archive to a temporary directory. Move things at the top level into "Data
Files". Move plugins in "Data Files/Extras" to "Data Files". Repack with
"Data Files" as the top level directory. This should result in a new archive
that Mash can install. But you have to be sure you still manually install
the Morrowind.ini to your Morrowind directory.
* Activate Arktwend_English.esm via the Launcher or Wrye Mash.
(The included Morrowind.ini should already have it activated.)
ARKTWEND_ENGLISH.ESM IS THE ONLY *REQUIRED* PLUGIN TO ACTIVATE.
DO NOT ACTIVATE ANY PLUGINS FROM THE GERMAN VERSION.
DO NOT ACTIVATE ANY PLUGINS FROM BETHESDA.
* OPTIONAL: Review the plugins in the "Data Files/Extras" directory, copy
the ones you want to "Data Files" and activate them. (See OPTIONAL PLUGINS
section above).
* OPTIONAL: Install other mods, for example:
TAO (The Arktwend Overhaul):
http://morrowind.nexusmods.com/mods/28293
Arktwend English Cutscenes by Brumbek:
http://morrowind.nexusmods.com/mods/33639
* OPTIONAL: Install the desktop icon from Arktwend_Desktop_icon.rar. Unpack
that rar file in your Arktwend Morrowind directory, and follow instructions
in the akrt_icon-readme.txt file.
* DO NOT USE ANY OF THESE (They are not compatible with the English version):
MorrowindEnhanced.exe
Arktwend 2.0.0 (DE).esm
Arktwend Patch 2.0.1.5.esp
Arktwend Enhanced Scripte.esm
* Activate plugins (with Mash or Launcher). Here is an example load order:
Arktwend English.esm
TAO.esp
* Start your game.
Ok, so i finally managed to get into the game itself. When i have installed arktwend, i have simply unloaded the content of newly created arktwend folder into morrowind folder(not sure whether this is the right thing to do). After brief conversation with two first characters (Brother Ventin and Paul) i am supposed to enter through the first door into Melee monastery church. However, during loading i get an error message which says something like this:
MODEL LOAD ERROR MESHES/ARKTWEND/BEERSUDS.NIF
CANNOT LOAD FILE IN MESHES/ARKTWEND/BEERSUDS.NIF
WILL USE THE DEFAULT OBJECT MARKER_ERROR.NIF
CONTINUE RUNNING EXECUTABLE?
After i click yes the room loads, i can see three characters in it, yet i cannot move, nothing is moving, all i can do is move the cursor around. The strange thing is that the game doesnt appear to be frozen, i can still go to the game menu and load or new or exit, and i can even open console and disable the whole room... so i have no idea whats happening. Any ideas?

I think this was a problem in 3.1 that was corrected in Patch_3_for_Arktwend_English_3_1, which you can get from the Main Files section here. Can you see if installing that fixes the problem?

I'm glad you got going.
I will have version 3.2 out sometime pretty soon. I hope within a few weeks, but you never know
3.2 is mostly for fixing bugs that were in 3.1, but there are a few small feature changes and some cosmetic stuff like using some nice animations from "Animated Morrowind".
Just as a heads up, savegames from 3.1 will not be compatible with 3.2, due to changes in cells, which I know is not good news, but hopefully the fixes will make up for it.
