Memory books

Are those placed random in the world or can you find them at the same place all the time. I seem to remember finding a Memory Book (+1 Memory - not learning point) at a farm with a Wild Mage. But now it doesn't seem to be there (Had to restart)

As far as I know the locations for the memory books are not random. Sometimes objects glitch through the floor or whatever surface they were lying on, or maybe it was thrown somewhere during the fight.

the few I've found were either in a place that is practically unmissable or had an unmarked quest attached(notes,books, etc, but no quest in the log).
