Master File Issues

Howdy,

I'm not sure if this is the place to post this, and there doesn't seem to be much activity on this forum. However, I thought that I would post it here in care someone can help me.

I've downloaded the Skyrim Master file that y'all have available, and have got Version Control working. However, changes to Races do not seem to have any affect. I have been able to modify the start Cell and move stuff around. As a part of my project, though, I only want some races to be available, and I want their stats and names to be changed. I changed the Text data of Argonians to "Lizardmen" and changed their description. However, when I use the 'showracemenu' code in the console, nothing is changed. My guess is that it is the .esp that is required to start that is the issue. Does the file in any way affect races? Any advice on how to change the races?
