[Spoiler] DLC and saves

Hi,

When the DLC is released, will we have to start over or just load a save from our current Enderal playthrough? If it's the latter, will any save do, like the last one sitting with the dude in the city (which wouldn't make much sense)? Or some other before the final string of you know whats? I have noticed that I have 2.5 gigs of Enderal saves, so I'd like to free up some space.

I tried searching the forums for DLC + saves to no avail.
