The patch for Oblivion hadn't installed properly. I re-installed the patch as well as put on a fresh install of Nehrim.
As for the Vista problems, I turned of UAC (User Account Controls), and it worked instantly.
I hope this thread remains for those who may have the same trouble as I did ...

Problem
First, the game loads fine, videos play and all is well. However, when I press "New Game", it shows a prompt confirming that action - clicking yes, the prompt disappears and nothing happens.

I defiantly hope Nehrim doesn't use Skyrim's exp system. I dislike Skyrim because of it. :S
