Did you read the book on the stand in the main room? It gives you either the spell or the rune. I love it, anytime I`m low on teleport runes, I can cast Mark right outside the tower and then Recall back to use one of the portals.
Many (if not all?) games and operating systems have a console. It is often the simplest way to interact with the program and to change certain values. So there isn't really any magic about it :lol:
