I guess my case is unique because I had installed the steam version at first. But I ran into problems running Nehrim with that version. So I uninstalled it and then installed Oblivion from discs. I am assuming that uninstalling the steam version never wiped the saves, and so that is what was messing ...
What is the pathway for the saved games? MyDocuments>MyGames>Oblivion>Saves? I saved three times as suggested and they are not there. The only things in my saves folder is autosave.bak, autosave.ess, quicksave.bak, and quicksave.ess

Nehrim runs fine, all my stuff is patched etc. The only problem is that my saved games do not show up under the load screen or the saves screen. I've been using quicksave and autosave only. When I try to make a "New Save" it says "Save Successful."
