I apologize for the slow response. I initially read Chasm's response and tried that method to no avail. Then I used a teleport and a mark/recall to return to the city, whereupon everything worked perfectly. Thank you for your assistance, gentlemen.
While defending the castle in Cahbaet, the game gives the option to follow Arantheal or the king. When I cross the bridge with either party, my game crashes as soon as I cross the bridge. I've even tried loading the save state and crossing the bridge without talking to them and the same thing ...
