The platform is glowing but i still can't do anything with it

I am at a part where there is a minecart and some transport platforms in the dwarven area. Everytime i try to use it, it says "Position yourself on the first or second platform" and no matter where i am on the platforms i get the same message. Is this a bug or am i missing something?
